Patna, March 22 (NationPress) Sanjay Saraogi, a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party and a Minister in the Bihar Cabinet, commemorated Bihar Diwas on Saturday by reflecting on the eastern state's illustrious history and the ongoing development spearheaded by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Bihar Diwas is celebrated annually on March 22, marking the establishment of the state.
While speaking with IANS in Mumbai, Saraogi expressed his appreciation for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's efforts in guiding Bihar towards a progressive trajectory, with aspirations of reinstating its historical significance.
Looking back, Saraogi remarked: “Post-Independence, Bihar underwent a challenging 15-year phase characterized by widespread crime (during the Lalu-Rabri regime), which led many residents to seek better opportunities in states such as Maharashtra. I am grateful to the people of Maharashtra for offering shelter and job prospects to those migrants during those tough times.”
Saraogi underlined that under Nitish Kumar's governance, Bihar is advancing, with visible enhancements in the state’s condition.
He also confirmed that Nitish Kumar is in good health, noting his recent completion of the ‘Pragati Yatra’ and the sanctioning of projects exceeding Rs 50,000 crore.
“The NDA plans to participate in the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar,” Saraogi stated.
Discussing recent communal unrest in Nagpur, Saraogi mentioned: “Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the impacted areas, promising strict measures against those responsible and a commitment to recover costs from the rioters.”
In response to remarks made by Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman, who labeled Muslims as descendants of Babar and Hindus as descendants of Rana Sanga, Saraogi denounced such a perspective.
He called for a move away from historical divisions, asserting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the nation is advancing, and such antiquated attitudes need to evolve.
Political analysts suggest that Saraogi's comments highlight Bihar's dedication to growth under Nitish Kumar and reflect worries about communal strife in other regions of India.
