Kolkata, Sep 26 (NationPress) The West Bengal BJP unit lodged a formal complaint with State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Agarwal on Friday, alleging that certain block development officers (BDOs) are exerting pressure on their subordinate booth-level officers (BLOs) to withdraw from their assigned electoral duties by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The BJP's letter to the CEO stated that specific BDOs have been contacting the designated permanent state employees, who serve as BLOs, insisting that they submit letters withdrawing their willingness to perform these duties.
"This coercive behavior is occurring with the backing of higher officials.
