Bengaluru, Aug 16 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has called for the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah due to his alleged mishandling of the Dharmasthala case. In a press conference, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, insisted that the Chief Minister must apologize to the people of Karnataka and step down.
Narayanaswamy pointed out that after no evidence was found at the purported mass burial sites, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar claimed there was a conspiracy against Dharmasthala.
He stated that Congress leaders initiated an investigation into the allegations and uncovered nothing. "They have made a mistake and are now trying to deflect blame. Just like seeking anticipatory bail after wrongdoing, the government has shifted its position in the Dharmasthala case, which they now label as a conspiracy," he charged.
The State Health Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao, previously mentioned that communists were behind the incident, and due to their influence, the government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
"For generations, devotees from across the state have been receiving the blessings of Lord Manjunatha. However, false narratives are now being constructed about this sacred place," said Narayanaswamy.
He recalled that a similar group had previously spread misinformation at Sabarimala, which ultimately did not serve their purpose, as it only increased the number of devotees. "Now this same faction is targeting Dharmasthala," he alleged.
The Congress party has begun to operate as a 'Communist Congress Party', pushing communist ideologies through the Chief Minister, he claimed.
When asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's praise for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Narayanaswamy stated, "For us, the nation comes first; this sentiment does not run through the blood of Congress leaders."
He accused Congress of having ties with individuals involved in anti-national activities and showing undue favoritism toward such elements.
In response, the Karnataka BJP has initiated the 'Dharmasthala Chalo' campaign to counter the alleged conspiracy surrounding the mass grave claims.
