Mumbai, Jan 16 (NationPress) The recent electoral outcomes from 28 municipal corporations throughout Maharashtra, excluding Mumbai, have revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the most prominent political force in various cities, achieving clear majorities or standing as the single-largest party in multiple corporations. Meanwhile, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena managed to maintain its grip on a few critical centers.

Other parties like Congress, various factions of the Nationalist Congress Party, AIMIM, and several local parties secured wins in specific areas, indicating a diverse but predominantly BJP-influenced outcome in urban Maharashtra.

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, within the 115-member civic body, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party, clinching 58 seats. The AIMIM followed with 33 seats. The Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde captured 12 seats, whereas the Shiv Sena (UBT) and VBA garnered six and four seats, respectively.

In Navi Mumbai, the BJP, under Minister Ganesh Naik, secured a decisive majority in the 111-member corporation with 66 seats. The Shiv Sena led by Shinde came in as the main opposition, winning 42 seats, while Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS obtained two and one seat, respectively.

In Vasai-Virar, the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, headed by former MLA Hitendra Thakur, returned to power with a clear majority, winning 71 out of 115 seats, while the BJP took the remaining 44 seats.

In Kalyan-Dombivli, within the 122-member civic body, the Shiv Sena led by Shinde emerged as the single-largest party with 55 seats, while its ally BJP secured 51 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) won nine seats, followed by MNS with five and Congress with two.

In Kolhapur, Congress became the single-largest party in the 81-member corporation, winning 35 seats. However, the ruling Mahayuti alliance collectively held the majority, comprising 25 seats from BJP, 15 from Shinde-led Shiv Sena, 4 from Ajit Pawar-led NCP, and one from Jansurajya. Shiv Sena (UBT) managed one seat.

In Nagpur, within the 151-member civic body, the BJP was leading with 102 seats and was on the verge of a clear majority. The Congress finished second with 33 seats. The BJP also registered a resounding win in Solapur, in the 102-member corporation, where it won 87 seats, while the Shinde-led Shiv Sena secured four seats and Congress obtained two.

In Amravati, the BJP was the single-largest party in the 87-member civic body, winning 25 seats. Ajit Pawar-led NCP garnered 16 seats, AIMIM achieved 15, and Congress received 14. The local party Yuva Swabhiman gained 10 seats.

In Akola, within the 80-member corporation, the BJP topped the charts with 36 seats, followed by Congress with 21. Shiv Sena (UBT) won seven seats, while VBA secured five. NCP-SP, NCP, and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena each won two seats.

In Nashik, the BJP secured a clear majority in the 122-member civic body, winning 72 seats. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena managed 26 seats, and Shiv Sena (UBT) received 15. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Congress won four and three seats, respectively.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, the BJP achieved a decisive victory in the 128-member corporation, securing 84 seats. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP was second with 37 seats, while the Shinde-led Shiv Sena won six, and one Independent was elected.

In Pune, the BJP celebrated a significant win in the 165-member Pune Municipal Corporation, capturing 123 seats. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP obtained 21 seats, Congress won 16, and Sharad Pawar-led NCP achieved three. Both the Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (UBT) secured one seat each.

In Ulhasnagar, within the 78-member corporation, the BJP narrowly defeated its ally Shinde-led Shiv Sena, winning 37 seats to Sena’s 36.

In Thane, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde retained control of his home turf, with the Shiv Sena winning 50 out of 131 seats. The BJP, contesting in alliance, won 30 seats, while Sharad Pawar-led NCP secured around 11 seats.

In Chandrapur, Congress emerged as the single-largest party in the 66-member civic body with 32 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) won six seats, while the BJP, which previously controlled the corporation, was reduced to 23 seats.

In Parbhani, within the 65-member corporation, Shiv Sena (UBT) emerged as the single-largest party with 25 seats. Congress won 12 seats, while the BJP also secured 12. Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 11 seats.

In Latur, Congress won a clear majority in the 70-member civic body, securing 43 seats. Its ally Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi won four seats. The BJP won 22 seats, while Ajit Pawar-led NCP secured one.

In Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Congress emerged as the single-largest party in the 90-member corporation with 30 seats. The BJP secured 22 seats, while the Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar-led NCP each won 12 seats. Congress and NCP-SP are poised to form the civic body.

In Malegaon, within the 84-member corporation, the local party ISLAM won 35 seats, with AIMIM trailing behind at 21. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena secured 18 seats, while Congress managed three.

In Panvel, the BJP achieved a clear majority in the 78-member civic body, winning 55 seats, while opposition parties collectively secured 18 seats.

In Mira-Bhayandar, the BJP recorded a substantial victory, securing 78 of the 95 seats in the corporation, with Congress finishing second with 13 seats.

In Nanded-Waghala, within the 81-member civic body, the BJP surpassed the majority threshold with 45 seats, led by Ashok Chavan. AIMIM emerged as the second-largest party with 13 seats, followed by Congress with 12. VBA won five seats, while the Shinde-led Shiv Sena secured four.

In Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party in the 78-member corporation with 39 seats, while Congress secured 18 seats.

In Jalgaon, the BJP achieved a majority in the 75-member civic body, winning 46 seats. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena obtained 22 seats, while Shiv Sena (UBT) secured five seats.

In Ahilyanagar, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP emerged as the single-largest party in the 68-member corporation with 27 seats, while its ally BJP won 25 seats. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena secured 10 seats, with Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) winning two and one seat, respectively.

In Dhule, the BJP clinched a clear majority in the 74-member civic body, winning 50 seats. AIMIM secured 10 seats, while Ajit Pawar-led NCP and the Shinde-led Shiv Sena won eight and five seats, respectively.

In Jalna, in the newly formed 65-member Jalna corporation, the BJP gained a clear majority with 41 seats, while the Shinde-led Shiv Sena won 12 seats, and Congress secured nine.

In the newly established Ichalkaranji municipal corporation, the BJP secured a clear majority with 43 of the 65 seats, while a local opposition front won 17 seats.
