New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) As the election process for the Bihar Assembly gains momentum, BJP Bihar State President Dilip Jaiswal announced on Saturday that the party's state election committee has successfully completed its candidate panel after three consecutive days of intensive discussions in Patna.
The next phase involves the national leadership, as the central core group engages in discussions in Delhi to finalize the BJP's initial candidate list.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar conducted three uninterrupted days of meetings for the election committee in Patna. The committee has compiled prioritized panels for both our current seats and for constituencies we did not win in 2020. The Bihar election committee has concluded its panel today; discussions will persist in Delhi throughout the day, leading up to the finalization of the central election list,” Jaiswal stated.
Prominent BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and key Bihar leaders are expected to convene at Nadda's residence in Delhi for an important core group meeting. The primary focus will be to assess the panel of names put forth by the Bihar unit and to strategize for the upcoming elections on a seat-by-seat basis.
This significant meeting comes on the heels of nearing finalization of the NDA's seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar. An official announcement is anticipated in Patna on Saturday. Insiders within the party suggest that the first candidate list may be unveiled by October 13 and is expected to feature a collaborative NDA slate, indicating strong alliance coordination.
In the meantime, NDA allies such as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) president Jitan Ram Manjhi have expressed contentment with the ongoing discussions. Paswan, who initially sought 40 seats, indicated a positive development, stating, “I have no concerns with my Prime Minister in charge.” HAM, which contested 7 seats and secured 4 in 2020, is aiming for 15 this time, though a compromise is likely through high-level negotiations.
With the election dates confirmed for November 6 and 11, and results to be announced on November 14, the BJP and its NDA affiliates are hastening candidate selection and ground-level preparations.
