BJP Leader Claims Centre Allocated ₹16,000 Crore to Rajasthan Between 2020 and 2023

Jaipur, Dec 20 (NationPress) Rajya Sabha MP and BJP president for Rajasthan, Madan Rathore, has asserted that the government spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended significant assistance to the state of Rajasthan under the special assistance scheme from 2020 to 2023, without any bias, despite the Congress holding power in the state.

"The BJP-led Central government allocated ₹1,002 crore to Rajasthan in 2020-21, ₹692 crore in 2021-22, ₹5,595 crore in 2022-23, and ₹8,513 crore in 2023-24. The initiatives introduced by Prime Minister Modi to boost capital investment in states are showing a favorable trend.

"The visionary approach of PM Modi will facilitate the growth of states and create new job opportunities. The Central government initiated the 'Special Assistance Scheme' to enhance capital investment in states," he remarked.

Through this scheme, a 50-year interest-free loan has been made available to the states. For the fiscal year 2024-25, an approval of ₹85,718 crore was granted by November 30, with ₹60,120 crore disbursed to the states.

In the framework of the Special Assistance Scheme, financial backing amounting to ₹11,830 crore was given to states in 2020-21, ₹14,185 crore in 2021-22, ₹81,195 crore in 2022-23, and ₹1,09,554 crore in 2023-24.

The Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, disclosed this information in reply to an inquiry from Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore.

In a related statement, Rathore criticized Congress for misrepresenting Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on B.R. Ambedkar.

"They should feel ashamed. The BJP has constructed memorials at the five pilgrimage sites of Baba Saheb and awarded him the Bharat Ratna, motivating people to emulate his example. The Congress members solely pursue political gain... Leaders like Kharge should bear shame. India will not accept the disrespect towards Baba Saheb from Congress. The party ought to issue a public apology," he stated.
