Jaipur, Jan 16 (NationPress) BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh commended Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday for his approach to governance, emphasizing his commitment and dedication to the role.
Singh also launched a pointed critique of the Congress party, accusing it of engaging in negative and destructive politics that the electorate has consistently rejected.
In a press conference held at the state BJP office in Jaipur, Singh noted that the recent election results signify a revitalized trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his development-focused policies.
He highlighted the decisive wins of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies in the Assembly elections across states like Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Bihar, alongside a landmark victory in the Brihanmumbai municipal corporation and other local elections in Maharashtra, indicating an increase in public support for the NDA.
Expressing gratitude to voters, Singh referred to these victories as a mandate for effective governance and development.
Regarding the controversy surrounding MGNREGA, Singh claimed that the Congress party is intentionally spreading falsehoods about the scheme’s discontinuation, whereas in reality, a new law has been introduced to address its previous shortcomings.
He accused the MGNREGA program during the Congress-led UPA government of being synonymous with corruption.
“Reports indicated that potholes were being filled repeatedly on paper; if the total area were calculated, it would surpass that of an entire Assembly constituency—clear evidence of corruption,” he asserted.
Singh announced that under the 'VB-G RAM G' initiative, rural workers will now be entitled to 125 days of employment instead of 100 days, with wages disbursed within 15 days. If this is not met, unemployment benefits will be provided.
“This law guarantees accountability and is set to improve living standards in rural areas while promoting rural development,” he added.
Alleging that Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, oppose the scheme to safeguard corrupt practices, he noted that previous social audits were often absent or ineffective, while the new system ensures that corruption will not go unnoticed.
He further mentioned that Gram Sabhas will now determine priority development projects, which may include schools, warehouses, skill development centers, nursing homes, and ponds.
This initiative, he asserted, will strengthen rural communities and contribute to realizing Prime Minister Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047.
Taking a jab at Congress, Singh remarked that the party opposes anything related to Lord Ram, whether it be Ram Setu, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, or the VB-G RAM G scheme, solely due to the association with Lord Ram.
He praised the 'double-engine' government in Rajasthan, asserting that Chief Minister Sharma is performing his duties with integrity and dedication.
Singh claimed that issues such as recruitment paper leaks, internet shutdowns during exams, and irregularities have been resolved, with examinations now conducted transparently and results declared promptly, allowing youth to secure employment.
He also pointed out the state government's various welfare initiatives, which he termed as evidence of people-oriented governance.
