New Delhi, May 17 (NationPress) BJP leader Pradeep Bhandari criticized the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress leader Jairam Ramesh for opposing their own party member Shashi Tharoor's participation in a delegation representing India on crucial diplomatic anti-terror missions abroad.
Bhandari took to social media to question Gandhi’s attitude towards patriotic figures, stating, “Why does Rahul Gandhi harbor animosity towards those who advocate for India, even within his own party?”
The BJP spokesperson also called out Ramesh for challenging Tharoor’s role in the anti-terror mission, remarking, “Is Jairam Ramesh really against his own Congress colleague Shashi Tharoor being selected to lead a Parliamentary delegation?”
Earlier, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya joined the criticism, labeling Gandhi as ‘insecure’ and ‘jealous’ for not nominating the articulate Tharoor for the multi-party MP delegations.
Malviya expressed on social media, “Tharoor’s eloquence, extensive experience as a United Nations official, and profound insights into foreign policy are undeniable.”
He further questioned why the Congress party, and particularly Rahul Gandhi, has refrained from nominating Tharoor for these significant diplomatic roles, suggesting it may stem from insecurity, jealousy, or intolerance towards those who excel beyond the party leadership.
Additionally, he probed the Congress's choice of MPs for representing India in diplomatic efforts concerning terrorism from Pakistan, specifically mentioning Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain and Lok Sabha Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi, and questioned their suitability for such important assignments.
“The Congress party’s selections for representing India at diplomatic meetings are not just curious; they are profoundly questionable,” Malviya stated on social media.
