New Delhi, June 30 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a fierce critique against the Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, alleging that they intend to govern the election-focused state not by the Constitution, but by Shariat.
Amit Malviya, who oversees the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, claimed that Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav have introduced a new campaign slogan ahead of the Assembly elections: "Vote for me and take what you want."
In a post shared on the social media platform X, Malviya stated, "The true agenda of Tejashwi Yadav's Gandhi Maidan rally has now been revealed. The discussion has shifted from Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution to Sharia and Shariat laws."
He further questioned, "Do Tejashwi and Rahul Gandhi wish to govern Bihar under Shariat rather than the Constitution? The public will respond to this hazardous strategy of national division in 2025. Bihar will adhere to the Constitution, not Shariat."
Malviya also shared a cartoon strip that allegedly depicts Tejashwi Yadav claiming that if an RJD-Congress government were established, they would hand over the ownership of Parliament House, Delhi's airport, and Patna's Govindpura village to the Waqf Board.
His X post included a video clip of a speaker at Tejashwi Yadav's rally, who commended the audience for gathering at Gandhi Maidan on behalf of organizations dedicated to Sharia.
During the 'Save Waqf - Save Constitution' conference at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of plotting to eliminate the voting rights of poor, backward, Dalit, extremely backward, tribal, and minority communities in Bihar.
Malviya's recent attack on the INDIA coalition coincided with BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi criticizing the Opposition for attempting to introduce Sharia laws during the previous Congress administration.
Bihar's 7.89 crore registered voters are preparing to elect a new 243-member Assembly between November and December this year.
