BJP's Preneet Kaur Commends Vice President Dhankhar's Remarks on Farmer Engagement

Patiala, Dec 4 (NationPress) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur on Wednesday welcomed the statement made by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar regarding farmers, suggesting that the government should engage in discussions with them.
In her remarks, Kaur emphasized the necessity of holding talks with the farmers to arrive at resolutions for their concerns.
She reaffirmed her party's dedication to the welfare of farmers, highlighting that the comments came from a figure as significant as the Vice President of India.
The ex-Union MoS urged Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to commence conversations with the farmers and seek a way forward.
Preneet Kaur asserted that the BJP government at the national level has prioritized the agricultural sector.
She noted that this focus is reflected in the agricultural sector achieving the highest growth rate among all sectors in the last quarter.
In response to the ongoing farmers' protests, Vice President Dhankhar, addressing Shivraj Singh Chouhan, stated: "Agriculture Minister Sir, every moment is critical for you. I urge you, and as the individual holding the second-highest constitutional position in India, I request you to please inform me…
"...and why has it not been fulfilled? What actions are we taking to meet our commitments? There was a protest last year, and there is another this year as well, and time is elapsing, yet we are taking no action," he remarked.
Jagdeep Dhankhar made these comments during the Centenary Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research -- Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT), held in Mumbai on Tuesday, with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan present.
The Vice President questioned Shivraj Singh Chouhan on whether any promises had been made to farmers and insisted that dialogue with them should take place without delay.
"Honourable Agriculture Minister, did the previous Agriculture Ministers make any written commitments? If so, what has become of them?" Vice President Dhankhar questioned.
