Jaipur, July 26 (NationPress) - The Jaipur International Airport and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) faced a bomb threat on Saturday, prompting a heightened state of alert among security personnel.

The alarming message indicated that both locations would be "blown up within one to two hours." This threat was directed to the airport's official email.

In light of this, various security agencies, including the police, CISF, bomb disposal teams, anti-sabotage units, fire brigade, and civil defense, quickly secured both sites and undertook thorough searches.

Utilizing sniffer dogs and reviewing CCTV footage, authorities combed through the airport terminal and its vicinity. Fortunately, no explosives or suspicious materials were found, leading officials to later declare the threat as a hoax.

This incident adds to a series of hoax bomb threats that Jaipur has experienced in 2025, targeting public areas like schools, courts, metro stations, hospitals, stadiums, and government buildings.

Previous events included an evacuation at a private school in Vidhyadhar Nagar and a major search operation at an ESIC hospital in Sodala, along with threats to mini secretariats across Rajasthan.

Local police noted that this was the ninth bomb threat received by the airport in the last two years.

On May 30, bomb threats were reported at the Mansarovar Metro Station and two courts, including a threatening email sent to the Jaipur Metro Court and the Family Court, which underwent a four-hour search.

Similarly, after an hour of searching, the Jaipur Metro Court was cleared as safe. Threats were also issued regarding the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 8, 12, and 13.

On May 9, the Jaipur Metro received another bomb threat via email. Following the success of Operation Sindoor, there were threats to blow up both the Jaipur Metro Station and the train, yet no evidence was found.

On June 6, 2025, a bomb threat was sent to The Palace School at Jaleb Chowk in Jaipur, but as the school was closed, it went unnoticed until the administration checked their mail the next day and alerted the police.

On August 19, 2024, bomb threats were reported at two locations in Jaipur on the same day, targeting Delhi Public School at 11 am and Pink Square Mall in Adarsh Nagar at 3 pm. Extensive searches were conducted at both sites, but nothing was discovered.

Point of View

I emphasize the need for vigilance in our public spaces. While the hoax bomb threats are alarming, they serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges in ensuring safety and security in our communities. It is crucial that authorities remain proactive and prepared to handle such incidents to protect the public.
