Hyderabad, Sep 22 (NationPress) The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has pledged its unwavering support to the individuals affected by the forthcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Telangana, as stated by party working president K. T. Rama Rao on Monday.
Residents from Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, along with constituents from Gajwel and Sangareddy, who have incurred losses due to the RRR's alignment, convened with Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan.
Former Minister Jagadish Reddy, along with leaders from the previously existing Nalgonda district and various public representatives, were also present at the meeting.
KTR reminded attendees that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, had assured before the elections that no individual would suffer as a result of the RRR. Many farmers cast their votes for Congress based on these pledges. However, after their election, the government altered the alignment, resulting in substantial losses for the farmers. He criticized local Congress leaders for neglecting the farmers post-election.
KTR emphasized that under the BRS administration, agriculture and irrigation projects have been prioritized, leading to a prosperous farming sector. Whenever land acquisition issues arose, the BRS government actively engaged with farmers, ensuring their rehabilitation and providing lasting solutions.
Conversely, he accused Congress of modifying alignments in both the previous Outer Ring Road and now with the RRR, adversely affecting the livelihoods of impoverished farmers.
KTR announced that BRS MPs would address the concerns of RRR victims in the Rajya Sabha. He also committed to raising the matter in the Assembly to hold the government accountable. He urged farmers to maintain their morale and avoid impulsive decisions, assuring them that BRS would remain by their side until a scientifically planned alignment was realized.
He called for solidarity, urging RRR victims to unite by passing resolutions in their villages and boycotting local elections. He asserted that such actions would prompt responses from both Central and State governments, bringing the issue to their attention.
“Telangana Bhavan is a community hub. Farmers are always welcome to come here for legal advice, support, and guidance,” KTR remarked.
He recalled the remarkable advancements made in Nalgonda district over the past decade of BRS governance, highlighting that the fluoride issue was entirely resolved through Mission Bhagiratha. He criticized those who believed Congress's falsehoods and subsequently faced injustice.
