Hyderabad, Dec 21 (NationPress) Tragedy struck in Telangana's Khammam district on Sunday when a bus collided with a stationary truck, resulting in one fatality and injuries to 36 others. The incident took place in the early hours near Chandra Thanda in the Thirumalayapalem mandal.
The Super Luxury bus operated by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) crashed into the truck which had been parked on the roadside due to a breakdown.
According to police reports, the truck's driver had temporarily parked the vehicle to address a malfunction. Unfortunately, the bus driver did not notice the parked truck and collided with it from behind.
Sadly, the truck cleaner, who was performing repair work underneath, lost his life in the accident, while 36 passengers on the bus sustained injuries.
Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, transporting the injured individuals to the Government Hospital in Khammam.
In a separate incident in Hyderabad, a container truck crashed into a height-restriction gantry before the Road Under Bridge at Nalgonda X Road late Saturday night, causing significant traffic disruptions.
Upon arrival, police discovered that the truck was being driven by the cleaner. A breathalyser test conducted on the driver indicated alcohol consumption, leading to a case being registered.
