The Complaint
Builder Aziz Ahmed, who is constructing a building in the G.B. Road area on behalf of an elderly property owner, filed a written complaint with the CBI on 30 April. According to the complaint, beldar Lokesh visited the construction site and demanded ₹2 lakh, threatening that non-payment would result in demolition and sealing of the premises. The property owner, Matloob Hussain, also gave written consent allowing Ahmed to seek a CBI inquiry against the two MCD employees.
Hussain stated in his consent letter that the property at Katra Gafoor Baksh, Mohalla Nihariyan, G.B. Road was being constructed in compliance with building bye-laws, and that despite this, the MCD junior engineer and beldar were harassing him and Ahmed to pay the bribe.
