New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to address the national-level 'Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan', women attending the event expressed their gratitude towards the government's initiatives, particularly the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (legislation passed in September 2023). They believe it will enhance women's empowerment and foster self-reliance.

The Prime Minister is set to speak at Vigyan Bhawan at 11 a.m. on Monday.

This Sammelan is expected to attract notable figures and women trailblazers from various fields, including government, academia, science, sports, entrepreneurship, media, social service, and culture.

The event aims to unite a broad range of stakeholders to discuss the pivotal role of women in advancing India's developmental journey.

This initiative is part of the Union government's larger commitment to women-led growth and emphasizes the necessity for increased female participation in decision-making roles.

Moreover, it will showcase the rising presence of women in leadership, from local governance bodies like Panchayats to the national Parliament.

This gathering takes place following the historic passage of the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' in September 2023, a pivotal move aimed at amplifying women's representation in legislative bodies.

This legislation guarantees one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies, a transformation for India's political landscape.

Attendee Yashoda Rawat shared with IANS that this legislation has long been overdue but previously lacked the necessary attention. "Now that the BJP is putting forth this initiative, it should remain non-political," she stated, adding, "We have come here to hear from the Prime Minister and hope to gain valuable insights."

Dr. Tarani Taneja indicated that the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' will be advantageous for the nation and contribute to its overall progress. She pointed out that when women achieve self-reliance, it positively impacts families, communities, and the nation.

"This bill has been needed for a long time, and it's the BJP that is finally advancing it," she remarked, emphasizing that women deserve equal involvement in national matters.

Another participant, Rupali, described this development as a monumental step for women's empowerment. "Women can now engage in decision-making beyond their homes; this will yield significant benefits," she noted, highlighting the optimism among attendees.

Dr. Vimal Preet Mohan regarded the day as significant for women, stating, "Today is a remarkable day for us. We are here to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

She acknowledged that the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' was introduced during the BJP's administration and expressed her appreciation for this initiative. "We are thankful for this effort, as it promises immense benefits for both women and the country," she added.

Yogita, another participant, conveyed her gratitude to the government and Prime Minister Modi, asserting, "It is due to his leadership that this bill is being enacted today."

She stated that the legislation's enactment would greatly benefit women and enhance their participation across sectors, promoting self-reliance. "All political leaders should unite in backing this bill," she urged.
