The beloved Tamil film actor, originally named Swaminathan, made this announcement on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami via a video message shared with the media.

Chaams stated, "I am thrilled to announce my name change on this auspicious Vijayadasami. My original name is Swaminathan, under which I began my journey in the film industry. However, I sought to create a unique identity, leading to my name change to Chaams. I have participated in over 230 films with this name."

He continued, "The character Java Sundaresan from director Chimbu Devan's Arai En 305il Kadavul gained immense popularity, and fans began referring to me by this name rather than Chaams. After considerable thought, I consulted with director Chimbu Devan, the creator of this character, and received his blessing to adopt the name officially. Henceforth, I will be known as Java Sundaresan."

The actor expressed his sincere gratitude to director Chimbu Devan for creating such a memorable role and also thanked renowned director Shankar, the film's producer.

"I want to take this moment to express my appreciation to all directors and producers who have allowed me to bring joy to audiences. I also thank the media for their unwavering support," he added.
