New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) 'Swami' Chaitanyanand Saraswati, who faces allegations of sexually harassing multiple female students, was discovered to have created fraudulent visiting cards for BRICS and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), as revealed by police during their investigation.
One of the cards identified him as a BRICS Commission Member and labeled him a 'Special Envoy from India'. On the UN card, he referred to himself as a 'Permanent Ambassador'.
The police continue to interrogate Chaitanyanand.
Chaitanyanand, known as Partha Sarathy, is the director of the esteemed Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management located in the upscale area of Vasant Kunj in Delhi. He is currently embroiled in a criminal case for allegedly targeting female students enrolled in post-graduate diploma courses under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) scholarship.
Authorities indicated that the 'Swami' fled on August 4, shortly after receiving a complaint from the Indian Air Force headquarters regarding his alleged molestation of female students.
As per investigators, Chaitanyanand would summon female students to his room late at night, threatening to fail them or lower their grades if they resisted his advances.
To date, police have obtained statements from three wardens at the institute, all of whom are accused of assisting Chaitanyanand in deleting incriminating messages.
WhatsApp conversations retrieved from around 50 female students have unveiled a history of abuse over 16 years, encompassing explicit texts and forced physical interactions.
Additionally, allegations have emerged concerning the deletion of CCTV footage, prompting the transmission of the DVR to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
Seventeen women lodged complaints at the Defence Colony Police Station in early August, accusing Chaitanyanand of harassment.
Officials also disclosed that Chaitanyand has reportedly preyed upon women for nearly two decades, emboldened by previous allegations of molestation in 2009 and 2016 that he evaded.
This current scandal came to light when 17 women filed complaints at the Defence Colony Police Station in early August. At that time, Chaitanyanand was in London but was later tracked to Agra.
He subsequently submitted an anticipatory bail petition in the Delhi High Court, which he withdrew shortly thereafter.
In a further twist, police uncovered several forged number plates from Chaitanyanand's luxury red Volvo car, all displaying counterfeit United Nations insignia with varying digits.
Investigations confirmed that none of the plates were authentic and had been fabricated by Chaitanyanand himself. The car has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigations are still in progress.
