Amaravati, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his former counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has conveyed their heartfelt condolences upon the passing of the renowned Islamic scholar, Maulana Mufti Abdul Wahab.
In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister expressed his sorrow over the loss of Mufti Abdul Wahab, who departed this world on Sunday.
"I am profoundly saddened to hear about the passing of the illustrious Islamic scholar, Mufti (Islamic jurist), and respected community leader, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Abdul Wahab Saheb Qasimi Rashadi from Nellore. He has dedicated more than 60 years to the field of Islamic education, imparting knowledge of the Qur’an and Hadith, and serving at the Jamia Noor-ul-Huda Madrasa," he stated.
He further acknowledged that for 50 years, Mufti Abdul Wahab held the position of President of the Andhra Pradesh State Tabligh-e-Jamaat and, since 2008, served as the honorary President of the Andhra Pradesh State Jamiat-ul-Ulama. "He achieved excellence in Arabic literature, Fiqh, Hadith, and other Islamic disciplines. An expert in various Islamic educational fields, he committed himself to religious and community service. I pray to the Almighty for his soul's eternal tranquility," he added.
Additionally, N.M.D. Farooq, the Law and Minorities Welfare Minister, also expressed his sorrow over the loss of this distinguished Islamic scholar, reflecting on Mufti Abdul Wahab's exceptional contributions to Islamic education and his valuable teachings that fostered societal growth. He remarked that the passing of Abdul Wahab, who disciplined and educated many individuals throughout the state, is a significant loss for the Muslim community.
In his expression of sorrow, he prayed to Allah for a high rank in paradise for the late scholar and for strength for his family.
Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also conveyed his deep sadness over the loss of the eminent Islamic scholar and spiritual mentor.
In his condolence statement, he noted that the demise of Maulana Abdul Wahab represents an immense loss for both the Muslim community and the realm of Islamic spiritual service. He mentioned that the Maulana had been in poor health for some time and passed away on Sunday evening in Nellore.
Maulana Abdul Wahab was an esteemed Islamic scholar and jurist who devoted over six decades to Islamic education and the teaching of the Qur’an and Hadith. He played a crucial role at Jamia Noorul Huda Madrasa and significantly influenced the lives of thousands of students, as stated by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He also highlighted that the Maulana served as the state president of Tablighi Jamaat for nearly 50 years and subsequently as the honorary president of the State Jamiat-ul-Ulama from 2008. Remembering him as the inaugural Mufti of Nellore district, he emphasized that his contributions to Islam and education will never be forgotten.
