New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday, reiterated the Prime Minister’s call encouraging all citizens to purchase products manufactured within India to further enhance the rapidly evolving economy.

During the distribution of the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi in Varanasi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the populace to support indigenous products.

Emphasizing the government’s dedication to economic fortification, the Union Agriculture Minister supported the Prime Minister’s call, stating: “We must live for our country. This was the honorable Prime Minister’s message yesterday. He requested us to procure only those items for our homes that are produced in our own nation.”

“Dear sisters and brothers, whether an item is manufactured in your village, nearby city, district, state, or anywhere in our nation—purchase only those goods,” he added.

He further remarked that India’s economy, which is experiencing rapid growth, is currently positioned fourth globally and will soon ascend to the third spot.

“This nation of 1.44 billion individuals represents a vast market. If we commit to buying and utilizing only domestically produced goods, our farmers, small-scale producers, self-help groups, and local artisans will all witness an increase in their incomes. As their earnings rise, our economy will strengthen,” the minister noted.

“Why should our finances go abroad? Let them sustain our own children. I will live for my country, and you too should live for the nation… which means, purchase only products that are Made in India,” he urged.

The Prime Minister has previously encouraged becoming “vocal for local,” motivating Indian citizens to choose local goods to bolster the economy and enhance the livelihoods of impoverished artisans and workers across the country.

This recent appeal from PM Modi comes against the backdrop of the tariff instability instigated by US President Donald Trump’s “America First” policy, which has induced uncertainty in the global market.

Furthermore, he assured farmers that his government would refrain from entering into any trade agreements that could undermine the interests of India’s farmers, youth, and small enterprises.
