CID's Counter Intelligence Conducts Raids Across Anantnag and Kulgam Districts in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), a division of the CID, executed operations at various sites in the Anantnag and Kulgam districts of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday.
According to official sources, CIK operatives conducted searches at the Anantnag district jail located in Mattan, where they inspected several barracks and sections within the jail.
“This operation is part of the ongoing investigation into a terror-related case. The CIK teams are also actively searching locations in the villages of Chawalgam and Sonigam in the Kulgam district, having secured search warrants from the court,” sources indicated.
In previous similar operations, investigators uncovered mobile phones being utilized by inmates, which jail authorities often claimed ignorance about.
Additionally, several jail officials have come under scrutiny from intelligence agencies in these instances.
It's important to note that following a rise in terrorist activities aimed at civilians, security forces, law enforcement, and the military have received explicit orders to target terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers to effectively dismantle the terror framework in J&K.
These attacks emerged after the recently conducted, largely peaceful, and participative Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir. Intelligence agencies suspect that the visible success of these elections has generated frustration among the terror handlers operating from across the border, prompting them to instruct terrorists to deliver a final blow to the waning militancy in the region.
On October 20, terrorists launched an indiscriminate attack within a workers' camp belonging to an infrastructure company in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal district, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians, including six company workers and a local doctor.
