Srinagar, March 26 (NationPress) – The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) division of the Jammu and Kashmir Police executed a series of raids at various sites throughout the Valley on Thursday, targeting a transnational terror module associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organization.

A CIK spokesperson confirmed that operatives conducted searches at numerous locations across the Valley as part of their investigation into the banned terror outfit LeT.

According to officials, the CIK, which serves as the intelligence arm of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, initiated searches at no fewer than 11 sites spanning the districts of Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Shopian.

These included six sites in Ganderbal, three in Srinagar, and two in Shopian district.

This terror module reportedly has international connections and is believed to be orchestrated by individuals operating from beyond the border, specifically from Bangladesh and Pakistan.

One pivotal figure in this network is Shabir Ahmad Lone, a resident of Akhal village in the Kangan tehsil of Ganderbal district, who is currently based in Bangladesh and is suspected of overseeing the module's operations.

The operatives are also reportedly taking orders from handlers situated in Pakistan, suggesting a wider cross-border network.

The raids were executed under a court-issued search warrant linked to a newly opened terror investigation at the CIK police station.

Officials indicated that this operation is part of a broader initiative to dismantle networks that facilitate militant activities in the area. During these searches, authorities confiscated incriminating evidence aimed at establishing connections between local operatives and their foreign controllers.

The searches aimed to collect evidence, including digital data, documents, and other materials pertinent to the operation of the terror module.

Authorities mentioned that further investigations are in progress to identify additional members of this network and to uncover the full scope of its operations.

The CIK is a dedicated Counter-Intelligence unit within the J&K Police, actively engaged in anti-terror operations throughout the Valley.
