Chennai, Jan 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK President, M.K. Stalin, is set to participate in a significant Delta Zone Women’s Conference organized by the ruling DMK at Chengipatti in the Thanjavur district on Monday, as the state gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections anticipated in April.

As the election date approaches, political engagement across Tamil Nadu has seen a notable surge. Various political parties have ramped up their efforts, concentrating on extensive campaigning, public meetings, coalition discussions, seat-sharing strategies, and the implementation of welfare projects while frequently consulting with party leaders and grassroots activists.

The DMK, aiming for a renewed mandate, is actively mobilizing crucial voter demographics, particularly focusing on women and youth. In this regard, the Delta Zone Women’s Conference is perceived as a significant demonstration of strength by the ruling party in the politically vital Cauvery delta region. Kanimozhi, the DMK Deputy General Secretary and Member of Parliament, will also participate, having been at the forefront of women-oriented political outreach across the state.

The DMK anticipates that around 150,000 women will attend the conference, marking it as one of the largest women-centric political events organized by the party in recent times.

Party officials indicate that the event seeks to emphasize the DMK government’s dedication to women's empowerment, social equity, and inclusive development. The conference is expected to showcase several flagship welfare programs launched by the state government aimed at women, including financial aid, education and skill enhancement initiatives, healthcare services, and job opportunities.

Chief Minister Stalin’s address will likely spotlight the administration’s achievements over the last term, its vision going forward, and the crucial influence of women in shaping the political and social fabric of Tamil Nadu.

Senior DMK leaders believe the conference will energize party members ahead of the election campaign and fortify grassroots mobilization.

Given the Chief Minister’s visit and the anticipated high attendance, substantial security measures have been implemented in Thanjavur district. Approximately 5,000 police personnel have been stationed to ensure the event proceeds smoothly, manage crowd control, and uphold law and order.

Authorities are closely monitoring the arrangements, and as an additional precaution, the district administration has enforced a ban on drone flights in Thanjavur from 6 a.m. until midnight on Monday. This restriction has been put in place to avert any unforeseen incidents during this prominent political event.
