Bhopal, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, graciously hosted Padma Shri awardees Kailash Chandra Pant and Mohan Nagar at his official residence on Thursday, offering his heartfelt congratulations for their remarkable accomplishments. During the meeting, the Chief Minister honored the awardees with a ceremonial shawl and a statue of Lord Mahakal.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, Mohan Yadav expressed his joy in welcoming the Padma Shri awardees, Kailash Chandra Pant and Mohan Nagar, and conveyed his best wishes.
Both Kailash Chandra Pant, a distinguished litterateur and journalist, and Mohan Nagar, a dedicated social worker, are among four esteemed individuals from Madhya Pradesh who have been honored with the Padma Shri, the nation’s fourth-highest civilian award, recognizing their contributions across various domains.
Pant, aged 89 and a resident of Sagar district, is set to receive the Padma Shri for his exceptional contributions to Hindi literature. Mohan Nagar, who comes from Rajgarh district, has been recognized for his efforts in social service, especially in environmental protection.
Feeling elated, Pant remarked on January 25 that being awarded the Padma Shri is a significant honor not just for him, but for his entire family. He stated, “This award brings pride to everyone involved in Hindi literature and education. My literary contributions largely consist of critical essays and various independent works.”
Mohan Nagar, who is currently the Vice-President of the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, revealed that he was actively involved in a cleanliness drive and serving the Narmada River when he learned of this prestigious recognition. He also plays a vital role in education initiatives in the tribal-populated Betul district.
Additionally, this year, two other personalities from Madhya Pradesh—Bhagwan Das Raikwar (Sports) and Narayan Vyas (Archaeology)—have also been selected for the Padma Shri.
