Ahmedabad, Nov 25 (NationPress) Navsari was once again graced by the kind-hearted nature of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, further solidifying his reputation as a “gentle chief minister.”
During a public event in the city, an elderly woman came with the hope of meeting him. However, the event concluded before she could approach him, but the Chief Minister made sure to remedy the situation.
After the program wrapped up, Bhupendra Patel took the time to personally meet the elderly woman, offering her a warm greeting and asking about her well-being. This brief yet meaningful exchange left a significant impact on everyone present, highlighting Patel’s humility and natural connection with constituents.
Patel officially opened Navsari’s new iconic bus port—marking the 13th facility of its kind in the state—developed by GSRTC under a public-private partnership for an investment exceeding Rs 82 crore.
Upon unveiling this modern complex, the Chief Minister reviewed its advanced facilities, which include deluxe waiting areas, a canteen, retail spaces, and specialized amenities for individuals with disabilities, all designed to provide travelers with a more pleasant and effective commuting experience.
While addressing the crowd, Patel expressed his happiness about Navsari achieving Municipal Corporation status, stating that this milestone embodies the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava,’ which prioritizes citizens in the development process.
He praised the city’s advancements in national initiatives like Swachh Bharat and Catch the Rain, noting that sound financial management is enabling urban centers like Navsari to grow rapidly. He mentioned that comprehensive urban development, along with increased usage of local products, is vital for constructing an Atmanirbhar Gujarat.
During the gathering, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the groundwork for various development projects worth over Rs 475 crore spanning multiple sectors, including GSRTC, municipal administration, revenue, roads and buildings, and the Gujarat State Road Development Corporation.
He also presented a cheque of Rs 284 crore from the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board to the Municipal Commissioner to aid in forthcoming development initiatives in the city.
To enhance civic services, Patel launched newly approved city buses under the Chief Minister Urban Bus Service Scheme and introduced new solid waste management vehicles as part of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, marking a significant advancement in Navsari’s public transport and sanitation infrastructure.
