How Did FM Sitharaman and Dy CM Patton React to the Death of Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan?

Kohima, Aug 15 (NationPress) The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Nagaland's Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, expressed profound grief over the demise of Governor La. Ganesan, who passed away in Chennai on Friday evening at the age of 80.

In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, FM Sitharaman stated: "I am deeply saddened to learn that the Governor of Nagaland, Shri L. Ganesan, has left us. He actively contributed to the BJP in Tamil Nadu, showcasing his strength in building the party structure. A committed karyakarta and a swayamsevak until his final moments. My condolences go out to his family and all those who followed him closely."

Deputy CM Patton, also the leader of the BJP legislature party in the Nagaland Assembly, expressed his sorrow on X, saying: "I am profoundly shocked and saddened by the passing of Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri La. Ganesan Ji."

"Throughout his public life, he exemplified dignity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people. During his time in Nagaland, he worked tirelessly to promote harmony, foster development, and support the aspirations of the citizens. His leadership and ability to connect with communities across the state earned him deep affection and respect," he remarked.

Patton continued: "I was fortunate to witness the warmth with which he interacted with people from diverse backgrounds, always making them feel acknowledged and valued. He brought not just administrative skills but also a genuine understanding of the community’s needs, always aiming to foster unity. On behalf of my family and myself, I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends. His legacy of service will inspire many, and his memory will be a source of strength for all who grieve his loss. My prayers are with his soul and for comfort to those mourning his passing."

Nagaland's Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, also expressed condolences regarding the death of Governor La. Ganesan.

In a post on X, Along mentioned: "I am deeply saddened by the loss of Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri La. Ganesan Ji. His dedicated service, humility, and commitment to the people will always be cherished. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul find eternal peace."

La. Ganesan was appointed as the Governor of Manipur by the President of India, serving in that role from August 27, 2021, to February 19, 2023. He also held the additional charge as Governor of West Bengal from July 18, 2022, to November 17, 2022.

He took the oath as the Governor of Nagaland on February 20, 2023.
