Ranchi, March 9 (NationPress) Following the remarks made by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his Gujarat tour, which suggested that numerous Congress leaders may be covertly supporting the BJP, K. Raju, the party’s national general secretary and state in-charge for Jharkhand, echoed these concerns. He asserted that a number of leaders and workers within the state are participating in anti-party activities.
While addressing the media in Dumka on Sunday, Raju mentioned, “We have received reports indicating that several Congress leaders in Jharkhand are in collusion with the BJP. The party leadership is actively monitoring their actions and will initiate appropriate measures.”
Recently appointed as the Jharkhand Congress in-charge, Raju shared that he has been touring various districts and blocks to evaluate the situation. “Feedback from across the state suggests that many Congress leaders and workers are acting under the BJP’s influence. It is essential to identify and tackle such individuals to fortify the party,” he remarked.
He highlighted that during the previous year’s Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, Congress candidates faced instances of sabotage from some leaders and workers. “The BJP employs numerous strategies to undermine the Congress. In this environment, our party must stay alert.”
In a meeting with Congress leaders and workers in Dumka, Raju underscored the necessity of engaging at the grassroots level. “Our mission extends beyond just contesting elections; we aim to continuously address the issues of the people. Enhancing our outreach and responding to public concerns should be our main focus.”
Raju further reiterated the party’s dedication to empowering women, youth, Dalits, OBCs, and minorities within the organization. He urged party workers to consistently inform MLAs about public grievances, stating that legislators must address these issues in the Assembly and collaborate with the administration for solutions.
The meeting saw the participation of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, state Congress President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, and Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav.
During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Rahul Gandhi identified internal challenges within the party, mentioning the presence of two categories of leaders within the Gujarat Congress—those who maintain a genuine connection with the populace and those who remain distant. “We need to distinguish between the two and take decisive measures against those who do not align with the party’s core values. If it necessitates the removal of 10, 15, 20, or even 40 individuals who secretly operate for the BJP, then we must proceed accordingly,” he stated.
