Itanagar, Nov 3 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), urged the Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission (APPEIRC) to prioritize quality education and ensure that private educational institutions adhere to established norms.
During a meeting with APPEIRC Chairman Tsering Naksang at the Raj Bhavan in Itanagar, the Governor received the Commission's annual report for 2024-25 and was informed about various initiatives undertaken by the Regulatory Commission.
The Governor emphasized that through a comprehensive system of accreditation, inspections, and performance evaluations, the Commission must guarantee that educational institutions uphold national and international standards while promoting innovation, inclusivity, and employability.
Additionally, he recommended that the Commission focus on projects that advance the state's development, particularly in education, sports, and various social and cultural endeavors.
Lieutenant General Parnaik (Retd.) stressed that educational outcomes should align with the country's developmental objectives, particularly emphasizing skill-based learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy to contribute to Viksit Bharat@2047.
He highlighted the importance of fostering collaborations between academia, industry, and government to bridge the divide between education and employability, thereby preparing youth to be catalysts for growth and social change.
The Governor reiterated that the Regulatory Commission must operate as a transparent entity dedicated to maintaining academic excellence and equity across all institutions.
He called for the establishment and periodic review of benchmarks for quality education, including curriculum design, teaching standards, research output, infrastructure, and student welfare.
Present at the meeting were APPEIRC members Limo Ete and Joram Aniya, along with Secretary A.K. Tripathy.
In another development, Colonel Samudra Vijay Sarma, Commanding Officer of the first Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion, visited the Governor at Raj Bhavan, where they discussed strategies to enhance and expand NCC programs and activities throughout the state.
The Governor stressed that the NCC's reach should extend to every district and institution in Arunachal Pradesh, ensuring that as many students as possible can benefit from it.
He remarked that the NCC is not merely an extracurricular activity but a crucial component of education that fosters unity, discipline, leadership, patriotism, and the noble spirit of 'Nation First' among young minds.
