Patna, Nov 3 (NationPress) The Bihar government has appointed Patna Traffic SP Aparajit Lohan to take on the additional responsibilities as Rural SP of Patna, in compliance with the Election Commission's orders to move Vikram Sihag following the murder of Dularchand Yadav, a supporter of Jan Suraaj, in Mokama on October 30.
This decision was made after the Election Commission mandated the transfer of the Patna Rural SP and requested a comprehensive report on the incident, which has created significant political and administrative turmoil in the area.
Local influential leader and JD-U candidate Anant Singh along with two associates have been implicated in this case. In light of Singh's arrest, the Election Commission has also instructed the transfer of two Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and one Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), while ordering the suspension of one of the SDPOs.
As per official sources, Chandan Kumar, the SDO of Barh, has been dismissed and replaced by IAS officer Ashish Kumar.
CID DSP Anand Kumar Singh will now take over from Barh SDPO-1 Rakesh Kumar, while ATS DSP Ayush Srivastava will replace Barh SDPO-2 Abhishek Singh.
Vikram Sihag has been recalled to the Police Headquarters and is pending a new assignment.
The tragic murder of Dularchand Yadav, who supported Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi (alias Lallu Mukhiya), on Thursday has escalated tensions in Mokama and nearby regions.
Initial reports indicated that Yadav had suffered a gunshot wound; however, the autopsy later confirmed that the fatal injury was inflicted by a vehicle running over his chest, resulting in multiple fractures and ruptured lungs.
The autopsy was performed by a three-member team of doctors at Barh for approximately two hours, under magisterial oversight.
Anant Singh's name emerged during the initial investigation, leading to his arrest on Sunday.
Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma verified that two others—Manikant Thakur from Nadma village and Ranjeet Ram from Ladma village—were also apprehended. All three individuals were reportedly present at the crime scene during the incident.
