Kolkata, July 25 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale, is set to embark on a two-day trip to West Bengal next month aimed at evaluating strategies in anticipation of the significant state Assembly elections next year.
Sources within the West Bengal RSS unit indicated that if all goes as planned, Hosabale will reach Kolkata in the first week of August with a fully packed agenda. However, insiders mentioned that unlike the public engagements held by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat during his visit in February, Hosabale's interactions will remain private.
“The purpose of Hosabale’s visit to West Bengal is entirely organizational, featuring numerous closed-door discussions with various Sangh functionaries. There is a chance he may also meet with BJP leaders in the region,” an RSS official from West Bengal revealed.
While RSS officials have chosen not to disclose the specific agenda for the meetings during this visit, political analysts believe that the visit will hold immense significance as the region gears up for the Assembly elections next year.
Experts also suggest that Hosabale's presence could provide insights into enhancing coordination between the Sangh and BJP in the state.
“Despite the increasing popularity of the BJP in West Bengal, the party's organizational challenges in the districts, particularly in rural areas, have kept the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead in previous elections. Therefore, improved coordination between RSS and BJP will likely benefit the national ruling party before the upcoming 2026 Assembly polls,” commented a local political analyst.
