Kolkata, Jan 27 (NationPress) There has been a minor adjustment to the planned visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat to West Bengal next month.

His original arrival date in Kolkata has been shifted, and concurrently, the duration of his stay in the state has been reduced.

Informed sources disclosed that his initial arrival was set for February 7, but it has now been moved to February 11.

Moreover, his planned stay has been shortened from ten days to just four days.

According to the updated itinerary, Bhagwat will touch down in Kolkata on February 11 and will proceed to Burdwan in the East Burdwan district the same day, where he will engage in a series of meetings concentrating on districts in central Bengal.

During his time in Burdwan, Bhagwat is anticipated to emphasize the RSS’s efforts in the tribal areas across various central Bengal districts.

Sources indicated that following the Burdwan sessions, the RSS chief will return to Kolkata that night and for the next three days, he will conduct a series of meetings with senior RSS officials in the state, focusing on the organization’s initiatives in various districts in the southern region of West Bengal.

On February 13, a meeting between Bhagwat and representatives from civil society in West Bengal is scheduled.

This visit comes at a time of growing tension between the RSS and the ruling Trinamool Congress, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently criticizing Bhagwat for labeling January 22, the date for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, as the country’s “real independence day.”

The Chief Minister has gone so far as to call Bhagwat’s remarks “anti-national.”

“I am unsure why he made such a statement. In my view, it is an anti-national comment. I strongly condemn it and demand retraction,” the Chief Minister stated earlier this month.
