Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Oct 30 (NationPress) The All-India Executive Board meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will kick off in Jabalpur on Thursday. This high-profile gathering will concentrate on strategizing for the organization’s forthcoming centenary celebrations, commemorating 100 years since the founding of the Sangh.
The meeting will see the presence of RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, co-Sarkaryavahs, and other senior officials, alongside Sanghchalaks, Karyavahs, and provincial pracharaks representing all 11 regions and 46 provinces of the organization. Selected senior members from across the country will also engage in the discussions.
More than 500 top RSS officials have already gathered in Jabalpur, including Bhagwat and Hosabale, under strict security measures. Key committee meetings and strategy discussions are taking place at the Kachnar Club located in the city’s Vijaynagar area.
This event is particularly noteworthy as it is the first such meeting in Jabalpur in 41 years, with the last national convention occurring in 1984.
Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale arrived in Jabalpur on October 26, initiating a series of meetings that will continue for eight days — a rare occurrence in the history of the Sangh.
According to RSS sources, this session is part of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal conference, officially running from October 28 to November 2. The objective of the meeting is to finalize action plans for the centenary year, aiming to enhance the organization’s social and cultural outreach.
During a press conference in Jabalpur on Tuesday, RSS Prachar Pramukh (Publicity Chief) Sunil Ambekar revealed that the Sangh plans to host around one lakh Hindu conferences across the country to celebrate its 100th anniversary. These conferences will feature youth-oriented events and will be organized at local and block levels to foster community engagement.
Ambekar further mentioned that RSS volunteers will embark on a 25 to 40-day door-to-door campaign between November and January. This campaign will focus on family values, social responsibility, civic awareness, and the Panch Parivartan (five transformations) initiative — aimed at encouraging moral and social reform at the grassroots level.
The RSS centenary year, officially commencing from October 2025 to October 2026, was inaugurated last month. To celebrate this milestone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin in Delhi, recognizing the Sangh’s contributions to nation-building.
PM Modi also praised the RSS’ “unprecedented and inspiring” journey over the past century, commending its efforts in promoting cultural unity, discipline, and social service.
Established in 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh began as a volunteer-based organization dedicated to nurturing national consciousness, cultural awareness, and civic responsibility among citizens.
