Delhi BJP Challenges AAP on Admiral L. Ramdas' Departure
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP has raised concerns regarding the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) self-proclaimed reputation for integrity, demanding an explanation for the departure of its internal Lokpal, Admiral L. Ramdas.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor stated on Thursday that while AAP leaders make unfounded accusations against the BJP, they must first introspect.
Kapoor called upon AAP leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Anurag Dhanda to clarify who let down Admiral L. Ramdas, leading to his exit from the party.
He emphasized that if AAP genuinely stands for honest and transparent politics, it should address why its own Lokpal felt disillusioned and chose to step away.
Kapoor pointed out that AAP's history indicates that several esteemed individuals who were part of the party in its formative years eventually left or were marginalized.
These individuals include Anjali Damania, Kiran Bedi, Shazia Ilmi, Richa Pandey, Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bhushan, Mayank Gandhi, Anand Kumar, Ashutosh, Ashish Khetan, and Ashwini Upadhyay, among others who contributed to strengthening AAP.
He noted that in recent years, several notable AAP figures have also distanced themselves from the party, including Raj Kumar Anand, Kapil Mishra, Kartar Singh Tanwar, and Kailash Gahlot.
Kapoor insisted that AAP must clarify why numerous founding members, social activists, intellectuals, and senior leaders have parted ways with the organization.
“Were they all mistaken, or did AAP's leadership fail to maintain the trust of its own team?” questioned the Delhi BJP spokesperson.
He also mentioned that while differing opinions are normal in politics, the continuous departure of senior leaders from AAP raises significant questions about the party's internal leadership approach.
Earlier, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva condemned AAP's demand to livestream the Privileges Committee meeting of the Delhi Assembly concerning the 'Faansi Ghar' issue.
Sachdeva's comments came just before AAP Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's anticipated appearance before the Committee to explain the declaration of a shaft in the Assembly premises as a 'Faansi Ghar' and its public viewing under AAP governance.
He stated that AAP and Kejriwal's falsehoods regarding the designation of the Old Secretariat as a 'gallows' have been exposed to such an extent that they are now resorting to numerous lies to mask their blunders.
