New Delhi, Jan 21 (NationPress) In a significant political shift just days ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, four leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including two municipal councillors, transitioned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday.

The leaders expressed their discontent with the performance of the AAP-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and claimed that the absence of progress and mismanagement were key factors in their decision to change allegiances.

Shilpa Kaur, the AAP councillor from Bhajanpura, voiced her disappointment regarding the stagnation of development in her constituency. She remarked, "The development initiatives in my locality have completely stalled. It has been two years since the MCD government was established under the AAP, yet only minimal progress has been achieved. With just 10 or 15 lakh rupees allocated, how can such a vast area experience development?"

Rekha Rani, another Councillor who defected to the BJP, emphasized her dissatisfaction with AAP's governance. She stated, "I have been motivated by the BJP's policies and opted to join them. It's not just me; several community members are also shifting alliances. Under the AAP administration, councillors face obstacles in executing any initiatives due to insufficient funding and policies. Their promises remain unfulfilled, with no active committees, budget discussions, or sessions taking place. The circumstances are grim, and the populace is frustrated."

Rani further remarked, "They assured a pothole-free Delhi, the elimination of garbage heaps, and the cleaning of the Yamuna. Yet, none of it has materialized. Their corruption is becoming increasingly apparent, and senior leaders are facing legal troubles. The electorate will express their views clearly in this election."

Additionally, Shridutt Sharma, a former AAP MLA from Gonda, and Chaudhary Bijender Pradhan, a representative of AAP’s Sanjay Singh, also joined the BJP.

The induction ceremony for these two leaders occurred in the presence of prominent BJP figures, including Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, and BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat.

The new members reaffirmed their dedication to serving the community under the BJP's guidance.
