The minister noted that the performances showcased by the children on stage are a testament to the fact that exceptional accomplishments can be achieved through hard work and dedication, even with limited resources.
While addressing the gathering at Seva Kutir, he stated that inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the transition from “disabled” to “divyang” is actively being reflected in policymaking.
The Delhi Government is wholeheartedly committed to empowering and fostering self-reliance among individuals with disabilities, he remarked.
The Minister also shared that a scheme providing Rs 6,000 monthly support has been introduced to assist individuals with disabilities who require extensive care.
Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of the Atal Drishti Hostel in Timarpur for visually impaired female students pursuing higher education.
He further assured that new hostels and assistive devices will continue to be made available for underprivileged and differently-abled students.
Indraj added that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is acutely aware of the needs of students and individuals with disabilities, and under the principle of “Nar Seva, Narayan Seva,” the government is persistently engaging in public welfare activities.
Earlier, at the event organized by the All-India Confederation of the Blind (AICB) at Braille Bhawan, the minister recognized the winners of the Braille Reading/Writing contests held in both Hindi and English, in addition to the Shri Madan Lal Essay Competition.
Participants hailed from 19 schools across 11 states.
Notable attendees included Jawahar Lal Kaul, General Secretary of AICB; Ramesh Prasad Singh, Executive Member; Anil Kumar Aneja, President; Dinesh Batra; Manjula Rath; Ranju Singh; and Jasmer Singh Pannu.
