In a recent message shared on social media platform X, Chief Minister Gupta remarked: “The reduction in #GST rates under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji has brought relief to every segment of society.”
She emphasized that the decision is directly tied to the essential needs of every household, the savings of each family, and the aspirations of every citizen.
“In certain areas, this decision has stabilized household budgets managed by mothers, while in others, it has restored peace to the expressions of small traders,” the Chief Minister noted.
Addressing the positive repercussions of the GST decision, CM Gupta expressed: “There is a renewed vibrancy in Delhi's markets, and most crucially, the belief that public welfare is prioritized by the government.”
Previously, she mentioned that traders and small business owners in the national capital have begun receiving GST refunds in their bank accounts, as her administration has expedited the process and is transferring overdue refunds.
She announced that the Delhi government has refunded Rs 694 crore to the accounts of traders and entrepreneurs ahead of the upcoming Diwali festival.
The Chief Minister reiterated the Delhi government's commitment to ensuring that GST refunds are delivered to every business owner, regardless of size, within the designated timeframe.
She commended the work of the GST department and praised the application of modern technology in disbursing GST refunds, which has led to quicker crediting to businesses' bank accounts.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister revealed that the GST department, in partnership with IIT-Hyderabad, has developed an advanced IT module to expedite and enhance transparency in the refund settlement process.
“This module employs data analytics, automation, and a rapid verification mechanism, ensuring swift processing of refund applications,” she noted.
“The Delhi government, motivated by PM Modi's vision, is earnestly advancing the ease of doing business policy. To this end, plans are underway to redevelop major markets, and the Delhi Traders Welfare Board has been established to tackle the issues faced by the business community and facilitate smooth business operations,” CM Rekha Gupta concluded.
