New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, revealed on Tuesday a significant partnership with the Central government’s lending agency aimed at providing guarantee-free loans for small business owners in the city, with the goal of enhancing economic activity and generating employment.
“Our administration has established loan provisions for Micro and Small Enterprises in Delhi without the need for guarantees or collateral,” she stated.
“Many small entrepreneurs struggle to secure loans without guarantees, but today, we have formalized an MoU with CGTMSE to deliver a lasting solution to this challenge,” she added.
The Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) is a collaborative initiative by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Established in 2000, it facilitates collateral-free loans to Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) by providing guarantee coverage to lenders, thereby enhancing credit access to this vital sector.
Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that this new MoU will also stimulate job creation within the city.
“This initiative will not only foster innovation but also create substantial new job opportunities. Additionally, our women entrepreneurs will gain the recognition and resources they deserve. Keep striving, dream big, and innovate—our government supports you in turning those dreams into reality,” stated CM Gupta.
Earlier, during the official event of the Delhi government celebrating the 77th Republic Day, the Chief Minister presented a detailed progress report of her administration’s 11-month period and laid out a forward-thinking plan for achieving a ‘Viksit Delhi’.
Regarding economic growth, she mentioned that Delhi’s budget has increased from Rs 75,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore.
In terms of infrastructure and transport, the Chief Minister announced that capital expenditure for 2025-26 has been doubled, and an MoU has been signed with the RBI to enhance financial management.
For developmental initiatives, the government has allocated Rs 1,700 crore for various projects and aims to bolster the MSME sector to reap maximum benefits from the anticipated India-EU trade agreement, she added.
