New Delhi, Jan 25 (NationPress) In her inaugural Republic Day address from Chhatrasal Stadium, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized her administration's commitment to dismantling decades of bureaucratic stagnation, enhancing the health infrastructure, and promoting economic growth.

During the official ceremony marking the 77th Republic Day, the Chief Minister delivered a thorough progress report reflecting her government’s achievements over the past 11 months, while also laying out an ambitious vision for a ‘Viksit Delhi’.

After raising the national flag, she detailed various transformative programs in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, and shared plans for the future aimed at establishing a developed Delhi.

Beginning her speech with the patriotic chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’, CM Rekha Gupta stated that January 26 transcends mere chronology; it embodies India’s dignity, democratic spirit, and total autonomy.

On the topic of economic development, she announced that the budget for Delhi has increased from Rs 75,000 crore to Rs 1 lakh crore.

The government is focusing on reforms to improve the Ease of Doing Business, implementing a Single Window System, launching 75 e-District services, facilitating 24x7 business operations, and formulating a warehousing and logistics policy alongside support mechanisms for MSMEs and manufacturing. The India-Europe trade agreement, she noted, will provide Delhi’s MSMEs with opportunities in global markets.

She proclaimed 2025-26 as a year of national tribute and motivation, commemorating significant anniversaries including the 350th martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the 165th birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, and the 101st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, among others.

Reflecting on Delhi's illustrious history, the Chief Minister remarked that the city has consistently emerged resilient despite numerous setbacks. She recalled the challenges posed by entrenched issues when her government took office nearly 11 months ago.

With a commitment to constitutional principles and the Prime Minister’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, numerous decisions centered around the public have been implemented, resulting in real and positive changes, she stated.

The Chief Minister highlighted the launch of 50 Atal Canteens across Delhi, providing nutritious meals at just Rs 5, serving over 50,000 people daily, with plans to expand this to 100,000 beneficiaries per day.

Prioritizing health, she noted that under the Digital India initiative, advanced IT systems have been integrated into governmental hospitals, over one crore ABHA IDs have been issued, and online OPD services have been initiated.

Through the Ayushman Bharat and Vay Vandana schemes, six lakh registrations have been achieved, benefiting 20,000 patients. Over 300 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are functional in Delhi, with new hospital wings under construction.

She reported that 21 percent of the 2025–26 Budget has been allocated for education. The Delhi School Education Act, 2025 has been enacted to prevent arbitrary fee increases by private educational institutions.

An ultra-modern education hub is being developed in Narela at a cost of Rs 1,300 crore, she revealed.

Characterizing sports as a crucial element of nation-building, the Chief Minister noted that Delhi provides the highest financial incentives for athletes across the nation.

On infrastructure and transport, she announced that capital expenditures for 2025-26 will be doubled. An MoU has been finalized with the RBI to enhance financial management.

In the next three years, the government intends to transition Delhi’s entire public bus fleet to 100 percent electric, adding 11,000 electric buses, she stated.

The Chief Minister also touched on initiatives such as Pink Cards for women and the transgender community, as well as the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway.

Under the Safe City Project, 10,000 new CCTV cameras and one lakh smart LED streetlights will be deployed, she added.

Addressing issues concerning women, workers, and social security, the Chief Minister announced financial aid for construction workers and the establishment of a Gig Worker Welfare Board.

On the topics of culture, environment, and the rejuvenation of the Yamuna, she emphasized that addressing garbage dumps, pollution, and river cleanup are top priorities.
