Chief Minister Gupta stated that her administration's second budget, which is set to be unveiled on Tuesday, is aimed at propelling Delhi's growth.
She emphasized that it would not only enhance infrastructure but also elevate the overall living standards of the residents.
“This budget is designed to transform Delhi into a city where residents enjoy improved healthcare, quality education, solid infrastructure, and a clean, green environment,” she elaborated.
The Chief Minister indicated that priority will be given to enhancing facilities for students, fortifying healthcare systems, ensuring cleanliness, tackling pollution, and fostering a greener ecosystem.
Stressing that ‘Developed Delhi, Green Delhi’ is more than just a slogan—it embodies a clear vision of the government—she conveyed that the objective is to establish a positive, safe, and prosperous environment where residents can live with comfort and dignity.
She mentioned that while the government has made significant strides over the past year to change the city's trajectory, the forthcoming budget will focus on implementing tangible improvements to its overall condition.
Extending her gratitude to the citizens of Delhi, the Chief Minister affirmed that the government continues to operate with their trust and backing.
She reassured that the administration is dedicated to serving the populace continuously and will persist in its efforts to make Delhi a better place.
The Delhi Assembly's budget session commenced with the traditional ‘kheer ceremony,’ symbolizing the formal initiation of proceedings.
She remarked that the ‘kheer ceremony’ serves not just as a customary start to the budget process, but also symbolizes prosperity, good fortune, and a commitment to public welfare—values that will be mirrored in the upcoming budget.
The ceremony saw participation from diverse segments of society, including farmers, students, teachers, healthcare professionals, members of the transgender community, women drivers, and media representatives.
On this occasion, farmers honored the Chief Minister by presenting her with a traditional turban. Notable leaders, including Cabinet Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravindra Indraj Singh, and Kapil Mishra, along with MLAs and other dignitaries, were also present.
