New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) On Monday, Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu commended the Delhi Traffic Police for their proactive engagement with nearly 6,000 residents and civic organizations during 30 meetings aimed at addressing challenges related to pedestrian safety and unauthorized parking.
Sandhu expressed his enthusiasm for the initiation of a special project by the traffic police designed to provide citizen-centric solutions to enhance the organization and safety of roads.
In a post on X, the LG remarked, “Following my visit and guidance on April 2, I am delighted to see that @dtptraffic has introduced Project SANGAM - Synergistic Action & Networked Governance for Area Mobility.”
“This project is based on the principles of collaborative governance and aims to deliver effective traffic solutions by involving the community in decision-making,” said Sandhu.
“By uniting Resident Welfare Associations, Market Welfare Associations, and civic entities such as PWD and MCD on a shared platform, the initiative promotes immediate solutions to issues like unauthorized parking and pedestrian safety,” he added.
The LG noted that thus far, 30 meetings have taken place in significant areas, including Connaught Place, Saket, and Karol Bagh, successfully engaging over 6,000 residents.
