New Delhi, Aug 13 (NationPress) The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has officially announced that train services will kick off at 4 a.m. on Independence Day, August 15, to support the movement of guests, invitees, and the general public attending the celebrations at the Red Fort.
The DMRC advisory specifies that trains will run at a 30-minute frequency until 6 a.m., after which the regular timetable will be implemented for the remainder of the day.
In a statement, the Delhi Metro noted, "To assist special guests, invitees, and the public attending the Independence Day ceremony on Friday, August 15, 2025, services will start at 4:00 a.m. from all terminal stations on every line. Train services will maintain a 30-minute interval until 6:00 a.m., followed by the standard schedule for the rest of the day."
The advisory also mentioned that individuals holding a valid Invitation Card from the Ministry of Defence for the Independence Day ceremony will receive special QR tickets for their travel to and from the venue.
The travel expenses will be reimbursed to the DMRC by the Ministry of Defence. The closest Metro stations to the venue include Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate.
Earlier today, a full-dress rehearsal for the Independence Day celebrations took place at the Red Fort, accompanied by stringent security measures.
