New Delhi, Oct 18 (NationPress) The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revealed modifications to the train schedule in light of the Diwali festivities.
On Sunday, October 19, metro operations on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines will commence an hour earlier than the standard schedule, starting at 6:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM, as shared by DMRC on X.
For Diwali itself, which falls on Monday, October 20, the last trains departing from all terminal stations—including those on the Airport Express Line—will leave at 10:00 PM.
Throughout the day, services will follow the regular timetable. DMRC posted this update on Saturday, advising passengers to organize their travel plans accordingly.
This special timetable is designed to ensure better travel experiences for commuters during the festive season.
Earlier that day, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched the 'Rajmargyatra' app, enabling users to gift FASTag annual passes. The government highlighted this as a “perfect gift for travelers” during Diwali and the festive season.
According to official sources, users can activate a pass by selecting the “Add Pass” option on the application and entering the recipient’s vehicle number along with their contact information.
Following a simple OTP verification, the annual pass will be activated on the FASTag linked to that vehicle, facilitating seamless travel without the hassle of frequent recharges, as stated by an official.
The FASTag annual pass offers a smooth and cost-effective travel solution for National Highway users, valid at approximately 1,150 toll plazas across India.
The pass is priced at Rs 3,000 and is valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings. It is applicable for all non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag.
The pass is activated within two hours on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle after a one-time fee payment via the 'Rajmargyatra' App.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has reported that the FASTag annual pass has attracted over 2.5 million users and processed around 56.7 million transactions within its first two months of operation.
