Delhi: PM Modi to Unveil 1,675 Flats for Economically Weaker Section Families; Beneficiaries Overjoyed

New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate 1,675 newly built flats for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) at the Swabhiman Apartments located in the Ashok Vihar area this Friday.
In anticipation of the inauguration, a palpable sense of excitement and joy has enveloped the beneficiaries who are set to receive the keys to their new 'pucca house', furnished with all contemporary amenities.
On January 3, PM Modi is expected to arrive in Ashok Vihar around 12.10 p.m. to officially open these newly constructed apartments for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters as part of the in-situ slum rehabilitation project initiated by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
As PM Modi prepares to hand over keys to qualified beneficiaries, many have expressed their delight to IANS, stating that their aspirations are being realized thanks to the Prime Minister's commitment and efforts.
Some beneficiaries, visibly emotional, mentioned they have already had a glimpse inside the flats and eagerly await PM Modi’s visit.
They remarked on the immense pride they feel knowing that the Prime Minister keeps his promises.
“We are thrilled about the transformation in our lives and the advantages it brings for our future generations,” they shared.
Fagu Yadav, a recipient, expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister, noting that this change will significantly impact his children’s lives.
“Other leaders like Arvind Kejriwal make grand claims but deliver little. The AAP government promised us free electricity, yet we continue to pay our bills every month,” he stated.
Malkhan remarked, “We feel incredibly fortunate to be moving from slums to a pucca house. Our dreams are coming true. There is nothing greater than owning a home. We are immensely thankful to the Prime Minister.”
Nisha, another beneficiary, described this as a New Year gift from the Prime Minister to her family.
“I am extremely excited to own my house. It has everything, including a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and a drawing room. We are overjoyed,” she expressed.
Importantly, for every ₹25 lakh spent on constructing a flat by the government, eligible beneficiaries contribute less than 7 percent of that amount, which includes a nominal fee of ₹1.42 lakh and ₹30,000 for five years of maintenance.
