Prime Minister Modi to Launch Multiple Projects in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) As part of his dedication to ‘Housing for All,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi, on January 3 at 12.10 p.m. This visit will include the inauguration of newly-constructed flats for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project.

During this event, the Prime Minister will officially open 1,675 new flats and distribute keys to qualified beneficiaries.

This initiative marks the second successful In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation effort by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), designed to provide better living conditions with essential amenities for the residents of JJ clusters.

As part of the scheme, the government invests approximately Rs 25 lakh per flat, while beneficiaries are required to contribute a nominal fee of Rs 1.42 lakh, in addition to Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar.

The WTC at Nauroji Nagar will transform over 600 outdated quarters into modern commercial towers, offering 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space, while emphasizing sustainable practices such as zero-discharge systems, solar energy, and rainwater harvesting.

The GPRA consists of 28 towers that provide 2,500 residential units equipped with modern amenities, optimized space, and eco-friendly features, including rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment plants, and solar-powered waste compactors.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, built at a cost of Rs 300 crore. This complex, designed to meet IGBC Platinum standards, includes advanced facilities like an auditorium, data center, and sophisticated water management systems.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for three significant projects at Delhi University, valued at over Rs 600 crore -- an academic block at the Eastern Campus, Surajmal Vihar, East Delhi; an academic block at the Western Campus, Dwarka; and Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will feature state-of-the-art educational facilities.

These projects collectively highlight the government’s commitment to urban development, housing, and education in Delhi.
