New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) In a decisive move against drug trafficking, the Central District Police in Delhi apprehended two individuals involved in narcotics, including a supplier. A total of 28.46 grams of smack, cash, and a weighing device were seized, as reported by officials on Friday.

The operation was executed by the Sidhipura Police Post team under the DBG Road Police Station after a period of close monitoring and interrogation.

As per police reports, the incident occurred on March 31, when constables Vishal and Shishram were conducting routine patrols near the Loco Railway Colony in the Kishanganj locality.

During their patrol, they observed a suspicious assembly of individuals, where one man was reportedly selling narcotics.

Upon the police's approach, the crowd dispersed, heightening suspicions.

Officers successfully detained the suspect, identified as Ashish alias Changu, a Kishanganj resident.

Following the legal protocols under the NDPS Act, a search was executed, uncovering 12.34 grams of smack in his possession.

The seized substance was promptly tested with a narcotics detection kit by forensic experts, confirming it as a controlled substance.

An FIR was subsequently filed under Section 21(B) of the NDPS Act at the DBG Road Police Station, with further investigations launched.

During extensive questioning, Ashish revealed that he sourced the drugs from a local supplier known as Md. Imran.

In response to this vital information, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Laxmi Narayan, alongside ASI Mohan Lal and Constables Vishal, Shishram, and Ravinder, was organized under the guidance of Sub-Inspector (SI) Sumit Singh, the Sidhipura Police Post In-charge.

The operation was conducted with the oversight of Station House Officer Inspector Randhir Singh and the overall leadership of Paharganj Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shaurabh A. Narendra.

On April 1, police executed a raid at the drug supplier’s residence, successfully detaining Md. Imran in the Kishanganj area.

During the search, they recovered 16.12 grams of smack, a weighing machine, and cash, further confirming his involvement in drug distribution.

According to police, Ashish was allegedly selling smack near the railway station, having procured it from Md. Imran, thereby forming a local supply chain.

Investigations indicated that Ashish has an extensive criminal record, with numerous cases filed against him at various police stations, including Sadar Bazar, DBG Road, Roop Nagar, and Sarai Rohilla.

His prior offenses include theft, robbery, and assault under different sections of the IPC.

Officials stated that the prompt and coordinated efforts of the police not only led to the apprehension of the drug dealer and supplier but also helped in uncovering the regional drug distribution network.

Ongoing investigations aim to track down other members of this network and combat drug trafficking in Central Delhi, police confirmed.
