Jaipur, Oct 4 (NationPress) In a major development against organized crime and drug trafficking, Rajasthan police in Jhalawar successfully seized 790 grams of smack valued at Rs 1.6 crore and apprehended four individuals during a well-coordinated operation.
The operation also unveiled Rs 10 lakh in cash, believed to be intended for drug purchases, alongside a vehicle utilized for transportation.
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar spearheaded this initiative as part of a broader crackdown on illegal narcotics under the NDPS Act.
This operation marks the seventh significant bust in Jhalawar under Section 30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, specifically targeting drug smuggling in substantial amounts.
Previous similar actions have been carried out in areas such as Kamkheda, Jhalrapatan, Dag, and Kotwali police station.
The latest operation was executed collaboratively by the Pidawara police station and the District Special Team, under the direct oversight of Additional Superintendent of Police Chiranji Lal Meena and CEO Sunil Kumar.
On Friday, police intercepted a suspicious white vehicle while patrolling the Banskhedi–Dhabalbhoj route.
Upon examination, authorities discovered 790 grams of smack and Rs 10 lakh in cash hidden within the car.
Four suspects were taken into custody, including Mohammad Anees alias Bunty (38), Shadab Khan (27), Mohammad Mazhar (22), and Arish Khan (19).
All four detainees are from Pidawara in Jhalawar district.
Initial interrogations indicated that the suspects had secured the drugs from Alote in Madhya Pradesh and were en route to Jaipur for distribution.
Ongoing investigations aim to reveal the full scope of the smuggling network, identify additional accomplices, and trace supply and consumption points.
The operation was led by Surendra Gurjar, in charge of the District Special Team, and Ramkaran, Station House Officer of Pidawara Police Station.
