New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) marked its 6th Foundation Day with the ambitious goal of transforming the capital into a national center for startups, skill development, and youth innovation. The occasion was honored by Ashish Sood, Minister for Home and Education, who served as the Chief Guest.
During his address, Minister Ashish Sood commended the university's initiatives and connected its milestones to the larger national mission of innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Delhi Skill Entrepreneur University is an extraordinary initiative. Over the last 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has championed innovative concepts like startups, scaling, and recognition-based learning. In its six years of operation, DSEU has accomplished remarkable advancements,” he stated.
In anticipation of the upcoming National Youth Day on January 12, 2026, Sood unveiled a significant program aimed at nurturing youth-driven innovation across the city.
“Delhi will commemorate National Youth Day with a Startup and Skill Youth Festival. All 11 universities and 19 ITIs in Delhi will collaborate to host this festival, providing a platform for young minds to present their ideas and innovations. Our objective is to position Delhi as the startup, innovation, and skill capital of India,” he emphasized.
He also recognized DSEU's contribution to advancing the Centre's vision for a skilled and self-reliant youth.
“Prime Minister Modi has elevated skill development and innovation over the past decade. DSEU has played a vital role in this journey,” Sood commented.
Switching topics, Minister Sood addressed the rising calls from Delhi residents for permitting fireworks during Diwali.
“People in Delhi wish to celebrate Diwali with fireworks. We will engage with the administration in a structured manner to find a solution. The government is already proactive in pollution reduction, but mere bans on firecrackers, construction, or odd-even schemes will not resolve the issue,” he mentioned.
“We must tackle pollution through sustainable administrative solutions rather than blanket bans,” he concluded.
