Devastating Fires Impact Commercial Establishments in Ranchi and Giridih, Losses Estimated in Crores

Ranchi, Dec 4 (NationPress) A devastating fire erupted on Lalji Hirji Road, a key commercial zone in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The fire destroyed at least 12 shops, leading to significant damages, according to officials.
Fire brigade teams were swiftly dispatched to manage the inferno.
The affected structure contained various hardware, battery, and plywood outlets.
Initial reports indicate that a short circuit in one of the stores initiated the flames, which rapidly spread throughout the establishment. Towering flames and heavy smoke caused alarm in the vicinity, but thankfully, all individuals were evacuated safely.
A large crowd gathered outside the burning building to witness the incident.
The access roads leading to Lalji Hirji Road are notably narrow, presenting major difficulties for fire brigade vehicles trying to reach the location. Shopkeepers estimate losses amounting to crores of rupees, although the precise total will be calculated once the fire is completely extinguished.
Police and administrative officials are on-site, alongside shopkeepers and local residents.
In a separate incident, a significant fire also broke out in three warehouses in Bodo, under the Panchamba police station jurisdiction in Giridih, at midnight on Tuesday. The warehouses, which stored plywood and electrical supplies, were entirely destroyed, leading to an estimated loss of around Rs 2 crore.
Additionally, three motorcycles and an SUV parked within the warehouse were consumed by the flames.
Despite the fire brigade's efforts, it took nearly nine hours to bring the fire under control by 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
This warehouse is located in a less populated area, so no harm came to nearby residents. The establishment, identified as Baba Jhumraj Enterprises, stored plywood and glass window materials and is reportedly owned by Ravi Saav.
Witnesses observed flames emerging from the warehouse, causing panic in the vicinity.
Investigations into these fire incidents have been initiated.
