Massive Blaze Erupts in Ghaziabad's Mainapur Industrial Area; 20 Fire Trucks Deployed
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Ghaziabad, March 6 (NationPress) A wave of panic surged through the locality after a significant fire erupted on Thursday night in a paint manufacturing facility and a scrap yard within the Mainapur Industrial Area, situated on Meerut Road in Ghaziabad. The flames were so ferocious that dense black smoke was visible from afar.
Following the report of the fire, multiple teams from the fire department promptly arrived on the scene and, after considerable effort, were able to control the blaze. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
The fire department received an alert at approximately 8:56 PM on Thursday, indicating that a fire had broken out at Arvind Chemicals Paint Factory and Saral Scrap in the Mainapur Industrial Area along Meerut Road. Acting quickly, the Chief Fire Officer from Vaishali Fire Station and the Fire Officer from Kotwali Fire Station, accompanied by four fire trucks, rushed to the location.
Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered thick black smoke billowing from the factory, with the fire rapidly spreading. The brigade immediately deployed hose lines and commenced firefighting efforts. Due to the extreme heat, the factory's tin structure began to collapse, complicating the direct application of water onto the flames. One of the walls of the factory also fell due to the high temperatures.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, a JCB machine was brought in. This allowed for the factory walls to be breached from both sides, and the tin roof was removed, enabling firefighters to access the fire directly and conduct more effective firefighting operations.
On the orders of the Chief Fire Officer, additional fire tenders were summoned from nearby stations to assist in controlling the fire. Extra firefighting resources and personnel were dispatched from the Vaishali, Sahibabad, Modinagar, and Loni fire stations. Fire engines and an articulating water tower were also brought in from Hapur, Meerut, and Gautam Buddh Nagar.
A total of 20 fire tenders collaborated to extinguish the flames. The firefighters encircled the fire from all directions and were able to bring it under control after intense efforts. Their prompt response also helped protect approximately five to six neighboring factories.
Currently, fire department crews remain on-site, continuing operations to fully extinguish the fire and implement cooling measures. The preliminary investigation has not yet determined the cause of the fire, and officials report that the matter is still under investigation.
