Chennai, July 9 (NationPress) Director Ram expressed that audiences have often labeled his films as extraordinary, classic, or a masterpiece, but it was only after experiencing 'Parandhu Po' that he first heard the term 'Hit' from viewers throughout his career.
During a thanksgiving event organized by the producers of 'Parandhu Po', which has received a robust response at the box office, Ram remarked, “Until now, I have never encountered such commercial triumph. After screenings, audiences would describe my films as a ‘classic’ or a ‘masterpiece’, but this is the first time I’ve come across the word ‘Hit’. I am grateful to the media for that.”
Revealing that he conducted nearly 40 screenings for distributors regarding 'Parandhu Po', Ram noted that while many distributors were impressed, they raised questions, particularly about his collaboration with Shiva.
“Nevertheless, when I penned the script, I had confidence that it would resonate well with audiences — and the inclusion of Shiva and Grace Antony significantly enhanced the film’s narrative. Partnering with new producers brings added responsibilities. There were challenges, but today we feel a sense of relief,” the director stated, smiling.
Ram shared that he and Pradeep Milroy Peter began discussing this project during the lockdown, saying, “He was the one who proposed the genre, 'Happy and Feel-Good'. Otherwise, I would still be working on multiple plots. He also influenced the climax alteration of 'Yezhu Malai Yezhu Kadal'. Santhosh Dhayanidhi composed several songs, proving to be a foundational element. Madhan Karky treated the songs as narrative instruments.”
The director extended his gratitude to actors Grace Antony, Anjali, Vijay Yesudas, and Aju Varghese for their remarkable support.
Speaking about the film’s protagonist Shiva, he mentioned, “Shiva worked diligently to promote the film and my directorial vision. I aimed for Shiva’s character to embody his real-life essence. Many are now praising our collaboration and stating it has paved the way for content-driven humorous films.”
