Director Vishnuvardhan Reveals That 90% of 'Nesippaya' Was Filmed in Spain and Portugal

Chennai, Jan 9 (NationPress) Director Vishnuvardhan, renowned for his stylish action thriller 'Billa' featuring actor Ajith in the lead, has announced that his upcoming film 'Nesippaya' will be a visual delight for cinema enthusiasts, as approximately 90% of the film has been filmed in Spain and Portugal.

This film has sparked significant interest among film fans for various reasons. One notable factor is that it will showcase the debut of Akash Murali, the second son of the late actor Murali and younger brother of Atharvaa Murali, in a leading role.

'Nesippaya' will also signify Vishnuvardhan's return to Tamil cinema, after his stint in Bollywood with the action film 'Shershah'.

Vishnuvardhan expressed, “Experiencing the vibrant air of your home industry is an unparalleled joy, and that was my experience throughout the production of 'Nesippaya'. After wrapping up my Bollywood project 'Shershah', I yearned to direct a film based on a small story concept that had captivated me for a long time. By chance, I met Akash Murali during that period, and our casual discussion sparked excitement in both of us.”

Upon viewing the final cut, Vishnuvardhan mentioned that both he and Akash, along with the entire team, were pleased with how the film had evolved.

He further stated that although 'Nesippaya' marks Akash Murali's official debut in Tamil cinema, his performance exhibited the qualities of a seasoned actor rather than a newcomer.

“Throughout the filming, Akash Murali's acting skills continuously amazed me, as they were comparable to those of established actors. Obviously, he has a genetic advantage, and his relentless desire to deliver outstanding performances is commendable,” Vishnuvardhan praised, also lauding his female lead, Aditi Shankar, saying, “She is a delightful artist to collaborate with.”

In addition to Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar in lead roles, the cast will include several well-known actors such as Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Khushboo Sundar, Raja, Kalki Koechlin, and Shiva Pandit.

The film features a soundtrack by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Cameron Eric Brison. Produced by Xavier Britto and Sneha Britto, 'Nesippaya' is set to hit theaters on January 14 for Pongal.
